    Steam v1.2 Update (Bugs Feedback)


    Mod Improvements:
    [*]Mods are now cached on the user's machine, so you no longer have to download the same image twice (automatically converted to jpg). This will greatly improve load times when starting up an already played mod.
    [*]You can find these downloaded images inside your 'Documents/My Games/Tabletop Simulator/Mods/URL Images' folder.
    [*]These changes are in preparation for Workshop integration and local file support.

    Loot bag Added:
    [*]Functions as a bottomless bag that you can use to store unlimited objects inside.
    [*]Uses a last-in first-out system (LIFO) for retrieving items; most recent items are retrieved first.
    [*]Mix up the contents of the bag by shaking it. This randomizes the order that the items are retrieved.
    [*]Saving and loading does not currently work with the bag, working on this so save compatibility isn't ruined.
    [*]Loot bag can be found in the spawn menu -> miscellaneous

    Mahjong Improvements:
    [*]Betting sticks have been added. [*]Default layout is now the popular garden wall.
    [*]Location of the tiles are also randomized.

    [*]Sound has been added for Table Flip and Teleport/Re-spawn Object
    [*]New sound have been added for GO bowl (shake & impacts)
    [*]New cardboard surface sounds have been added for all objects (Checkers Board and Custom Board use this sound)

    [*]4 new figurines have been added: Knight of Knil, Mara, Zomblor, & Zeke Kodoku.
    [*]The line tool now displays 1 decimal point to add more precision for measuring
    [*]Custom cards are no longer automatically shuffled.
    [*]Basic rules have been added for Backgammon, Checkers, Chess, Chinese Checkers, Dominoes, Go, and Pachisi - more coming.
    [*]Location host selection is now radio buttons instead of typing.
    [*]Custom board now stretches for non-square images.

    IRC Lobby Improvements:
    [*]Chat dialog will no longer be deselected when you are typing when someone leaves or joins.
    [*]Your own messages will now scroll chat to the bottom like other messages.

    Bug Fixes:
    [*]Cards are now hidden when being dealt to stop being able to sneak glances at them mid flight.
    [*]Cards no longer reveal themselves to clients when loading/rewinding.
    [*]Cards should no longer be duplicated if they are grabbed in mid flight when being reset.
    [*]Window GUI elements will recenter properly if you resize the game while it is running.
    [*]Players are now properly added to your recently played with on your Steam overlay.
    [*]Player name text will not be floating so much away from the octagon table anymore.
    [*]Fixed some possible custom deck issues with one of the URLs failing.
    [*]Help menu has been updated with the new keybinds.
    [*]Server browser display issues have been resolved for some of the categories.
    [*]D4 dice collision collider is now working properly.
    [*]Shrunk player pawns no longer topple over when dropped.
    [*]Objects will no longer teleport when raised high up on the mouse colliding box.
    [*]Host menu should no longer cut off on lower resolution displays.
    [*]Hide UI also now works properly on the IRC lobby.
    [*]Poker Table FPS camera is now working properly.

    Can I change the path in which the game saves those custom images?
    Because now the game can't load local images, and URLs won't work either.
    I guess that may due to the Chinese characters in my path.

    Strange. Try surrounding the entire path in quotation marks "".

    It seems you don't have to actually release an item for it to enter a loot bag.
    Sir Loin and Mara are showing up twice on the spawn menu.
    And I have no idea if this is new with this version but I've only just noticed it: most objects will snap to the chess and checker board grid but rpg figures do not

    I've changed my document's path into full english. Still having problems. Custom cards can be loaded in the first time, but after s&l, the game tells me the URL is wrong. Both local file and online file are not working, and "" won't help. Custom board is fine though. PLZ HELP!!!

    OK, I've found something.
    After s&l, custom cards won't load, they are white on both sides. Until I spawn a new custom deck. The very fist deck I defined, whose texture is not loaded, changes its texture to as same as the new deck immediately, both face and back. Then, spawn a new custom deck again, this time the second deck I defined before, which is also white, changes its texture as well! Now that's really strange...
    And one more thing is, the game crashes much more easily then before.

    Major problem with save files and custom content;

    If you add custom content (either Board or Card Deck) and you already have a local copy in the /mods/URL Images/ directory, the game will use the local path instead when making a save file.

    The local copy does not differentiate between different sources with the same file name.

    If for example I have a mod that uses the URL http://u.cubeupload.com/Karmond/card.jpg and someone else has a save file with a completely different image at http://u.cubeupload.com/Otherperson/card.jpg The local copy will only store one card.jpg and will use whichever it downloaded first. It doesn't matter where the images are hosted, only if they have the same file name.

    Since many people use imgur for image hosting, and imgur creates unique filenames this might be a rare issue, but for anyone that hosts elsewhere this could become an issue.

    Yeah when checking for locally saved mods against URL images I would suggest making a hash checking system to avoid duplicate/redundant downloads (and also I suppose to prevent any exploits masquerading as copies of legitimate custom content)

    I've also noticed in the course of trying to play the cardbot game that the alt-zoom preview of cards only shows the card in portrait orientation, making cards made in landscape orientation a little difficult to read. Could there be an option to alt+mousewheel or alt+q/e to rotate the object preview?

    Saving is almost completely broken for me. I'm using Dropbox to store card information. I can save a game with custom cards loaded in, but when I load it back up all the cards are either blank and there's a url error in the console, or some decks turned into other types of decks that are also loaded in.

    I kinda wish the save for images from custom games was temp. That way ppl that host a custom board game wont have their pics and stuff out there until they upload it for public use :/. Since ppl connect to hosted rooms where TTS get the address of the shared image files anyways there really isnt a need for the img files to be saved permanently after they leave the room IMO.

    I also had the issue with custom cards not loading for ppl that enter the room. i would have to spawn a new deck and put in the same info as the actual deck i use for them to get the card img. then delete the new deck.

    Have you tried cut and paste on the deck to force a reload?

    Here's an odd one. I'm using dice as player pieces on a board; some are normal 6-sided plastic dice, and some are the colored 6-sided plastic dice that have been sized down two stops. Often, if I accidentally tap a large die with one of the small ones--or vice versa--the small die will pop to its normal size. This may have the benefit of being exploited in some fun game mode, but in my case it's kind of annoying.

    Problem solved. The old .cjc save files not working any more, so I recreate my custom game, and it works fine. I've also noticed that the save file doesn't record all the URLs of custom images, this maybe the reason why people can't see those images with a single .cjc file. And still, the game really like to crash now, hope it could be improved soon. Many thanks to this update, keep up the good work!

    Found a bug: If items are put inside lootbag #1, and lootbag #1 is put into lootbag #2, when lootbag #1 is taken out of lootbag #2, the items in lootbag #1 can not be removed from it.

    I've looked into the .cjc files, and they look like they're saving references of the custom decks from the local cache rather than from the Internet. This prevents other people from seeing the cards, obviously, unless they have all the exact same cards in the exact same place on their own hard drive.

    What I'm positive is going on is that when you spawn a custom deck, it's saved with a reference link to the picture. After it downloads, the reference link is changed to a local one that references the cache, permanently. When you save the game after this, all the references are from your local files instead of the internet.

    What I assume you've done to fix this is change the way the saved images are cached; all images would contain their reference url as a piece of meta-data when they're saved. All the custom card decks would then retain their original reference url instead of replacing it, and check it against the image meta-data when it wants to see if the deck's info is cached. This would still allow people on servers to download and see the decks when the save is loaded in.

    Or, you could just hash the url and save the cached image's name as that hash. Probably would be simpler and better.

    At least, I hope that's what you've done. Or something similar.
