Thread: Cloud and workshop issues

    Unhappy Cloud and workshop issues

I am having several issues with cloud uploads and workshop uploads.

First issue: Red text failure message 'failed to write to steam cloud' when attempting to upload an asset to the cloud in-game.

Second issue: When updating a published mod, I receive chat box notifications that the upload is successful, but the time stamp on the mod does not get updated and the assets do not get updated. In other words, nothing happens.

Third issue: When attempting to publish a new mod, I receive a very very very long ID number, and a notification that publication was successful, but the publication does not in fact appear in the workshop.

Fourth issue: I have noticed that when browsing multiplayer servers in-game under the 'friends' tab, servers belonging to people who are not on my friends list are visible.

Attempted fixxes: Have turned off mod caching. Have Uninstalled and reinstalled TTS. Have rebooted computer and router.

    Nothing working.

    Help?

Hey David Boyle Welcome to the community

I imagine that the very long number you received was this 18446744073709551615

which is a 64bit unsigned integer.

This has been a long standing and extremely Sporadic problem for one or two members of the community.

Fairly recently one of the afflicted Baryonyx found a solution that worked for him and fixed this particular issue.

While i had no files in the remote folder, deleting my remotecache.vdf and restarting steam seemed to have fixed the problem magically. I did a successful test upload now.
So far this is the best go to solution available for your issue and hopefully it will be of some use to you as well.

    Talking That worked!

Deleting remotecache.vdf from userdata worked like a charm. Thanks muchly for this. Recommend you spread this far and wide.

Seems to happen as a result of updating workshop too often in too short a time? Donno. Anyways.

    remotecache.vdf for the win!

Sadly, I have an update: The problem returned, and is now worse.

The game is crashing when I upload assets to the cloud.

MSVCR110.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
    in module MSVCR110.dll at 0023:5001df22.

MSVCR110.dll is part of MS Visual Studios C++.

Go into programs and features and uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
    Then RE-install this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=5555

Do the same with Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x86)

Also, not sure if your cloud was full before, but the size has been increased from 1 gig to 100 gigs, so you shouldn't have cloud issues any longer.
