    Improving Fog Of War

Fog of War is a nice feature in TTS but, as far as I can tell, since TTS does not have definitions of walls, the TTS FoW extends in all directions around the revealer regardless if there are solid objects in the way. This means when characters (revealers) come close to any dungeon walls they reveal FoW beyond the walls. This not only tells them where there may be more unexplored rooms of the dungeon but can also reveal surprises beyond doors.

Is there any way around this?

    Workaround 1:

One possible way to work around this would be to create a bunch of Hidden Areas and then manually removing them as characters explore the rooms. This could work but it seems like a lot of work since the whole map would need to get broken down into small areas.

    Workaround 2:

Make all dungeon content not visible to players and create a simple macro button for the GM which would make all selected objects visible. Then as the characters explore the rooms the GM would select the area of the room and make it visible.

The problem with this solution is that TTS does not seem to save the visible state. This means when the game is loaded the GM needs to hide all the elements. This is not a bid deal but if the players are part of the way through the dungeon and the sessions ends the GM would need to take a snapshot of the explored areas so that he/she would be able to set it up the same way at the beginning of the next session. The bigger problem is if a new dungeon needs to be loaded in the middle of a session because it will load unhidden and the players will see it.
