Thread: Way to have HAND POPUP able to use multiple hand zones.

Way to have HAND POPUP able to use multiple hand zones.

Many games have more than one hand of cards.. and a LOT of games have communal cards.

What would be cool is a way to assign what hand is viewed in the popup. You could make it so it has a little "left/right" arrow on it or something.

It would need a few things.

    1) A way to change what HAND ZONE the popup follows.. a left/right is all we need, though a "return to default" might be cool
    2) Have it either skip hands that it shouldn't have access to, or simply show them as card backs.
    3) a way to set a handzone as "communal" meaning anyone can look at it and take add cards to it. (This is for card offers that are in literally 1000s of games)
    4) Ignore hand zones no owned by players (as in no one sitting there) but show as "no cards" for players with no cards.

    3 Example Game

    • Through the Ages : New Story of Civilisation (I've been playing this game a ton recently lol) This game each play has 2 hands of cards... 1 is hidden, 1 is open information and there is a communal card offer that all players have access to.
    • Kemet : this is a tile offer sudo-wargame. Much of the game is choosing what tiles you will take when you can... there is also a hand of cards that you need to keep an eye on for each player, it is hidden but important to know if they have option in combat. So having the popup able to look at your hand, other players hands and then using the new "objects in hand zone" thing you could also have a bunch of "offer" hand zones that have each of the tier 1, 2 and 3 tiles to look at and take from.
    • Bruxelles 1893 : In this game you have no hand of cards, but there is a card offer that each play needs to look at and take from as the game plays.

#1, makes sense kind of, but I suppose I don't know many games that use multiple hands at once.
#2, 3, and 4: the area that shows on screen only shows the zone that you are sitting at, so if anything it should only be showing zones that are in your color. if they just moved the "Hiding" options down from the main menu and put them into the hand zones themselves, that would fix this so that you could do it on an individual hand basis, instead of just a global one.
